Discover our country’s national treasures in the Upper Midwest and heart of the American West while venturing through the picturesque landscapes of Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota. Begin by traveling west to North Dakota to visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park, followed by a delightful steak dinner and musical. Heading into Montana, board vintage touring cars to travel Glacier National Park’s Going-to-the-Sun Road. Learn about the famous explorations of Lewis and Clark before crossing into Wyoming to discover the wonders within Yellowstone National Park during a two-night stay and visit Devils Tower. In South Dakota, spend two nights in Rapid City, gaze upon Mount Rushmore, and drive a scenic loop within Badlands National Park, then return home. For guests within driving distance of Minneapolis, this trip begins close to home and requires no flights. Guests from other areas will fly into Minneapolis and enjoy an included overnight before and after the motorcoach tour begins.

  • Day 1: North Dakota
    Today, we depart Minneapolis and begin our motorcoach journey to discover America's national parks. Watch for intriguing wildlife, like bison, as we travel to our hotel in Bismarck, North Dakota.
  • Day 2: Theodore Roosevelt National Park
    This morning, we enjoy country vistas of wheat fields, grazing pastures, and oil wells en route to the badlands of western North Dakota. Early afternoon, we arrive at Theodore Roosevelt National Park to seek out wildlife among the rugged landscapes of rocky cliffs and river valleys. Our exploration continues at the brand-new Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, set at the edge of the park, where immersive exhibits bring to life the legacy, leadership, and conservation spirit of our 26th president. Later, we check in to our accommodations and have time to freshen up before our traditional western dinner at Pitchfork Steak Fondue, followed by captivating patriotic performances at the Medora Musical.

  • Day 3: Theodore Roosevelt National Park
    After breakfast, we drive into Montana and stop for lunch in Glasgow. Our travels continue to our hotel in Havre, named after the French port city of Le Havre. The evening is at your leisure.

  • Day 4: Whitefish
    We make our way across Montana today, where ranches and grazing lands give way to the majestic Northern Rocky Mountains. Enjoy leisure time in East Glacier Park, a charming community with spectacular scenery. We then travel picturesque Highway 2 around the southern edge of Glacier National Park to the vibrant resort town of Whitefish. Soak up panoramic views of snow-capped mountains, lush forests, and glistening lakes on a lift ride before settling into our hotel for the evening.

  • Day 5: Going-to-the-Sun Road
    Our day starts inside “The Crown of the Continent,” Glacier National Park. We board vintage Red Buses with expert driver-guides and drive one of the most scenic routes in the world: Going-to-the-Sun Road. This beautiful region features alpine meadows, cascading waterfalls, vast lakes, and more than 20 glaciers! After the tour, enjoy lunch in St. Mary Village before we drive to Great Falls for our overnight stay.

  • Day 6: Gates of the Mountains
    We begin exploring the wonders of Great Falls at the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center, close to where the explorers spent a month portaging around five waterfalls. After lunch, stories of their famous expedition come alive during a boat ride through a three-mile-long canyon known as Gates of the Mountains, named by Meriwether Lewis in 1805. Tonight, we stay in the capital city of Helena.

  • Day 7: Mammoth Hot Springs
    This morning’s serene drive takes us along the crystal-clear Gallatin River to Gardiner, the Northern Gateway to Yellowstone. Upon arriving at Yellowstone National Park, we go through its original entrance and stop to explore beautiful Mammoth Hot Springs while gazing upon a variety of wildlife and unbeatable vistas. Later, we check in to our accommodations nestled inside the park and have dinner together.

  • Day 8: Yellowstone National Park
    Today, we spend a full day uncovering the natural wonders of Yellowstone National Park with an expert park guide! Our exciting tour includes fascinating narration, lunch at Canyon Lodge Eatery, and stops at Old Faithful and Artist Point. We also see stunning views of Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls as well as the multicolored Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, a vibrant gorge spanning 20 miles. This evening is at leisure, with the rare opportunity to explore the park after close, offering a more peaceful glimpse of Yellowstone’s beauty.

  • Day 9: Cody
    Our day begins with a drive to Cody, Wyoming, coined the Rodeo Capital of the World. After lunch, we visit the Buffalo Bill Center of the West to explore five museums with intriguing exhibits and discover why author James Mitchner called this world-class collection “The Smithsonian of the West.” Later, we saddle up for a cowboy experience featuring an all-you-can-eat dinner with foot-stompin’ entertainment, followed by the thrilling Cody Nite Rodeo at Stampede Park!

  • Day 10: Devils Tower National Monument
    We head eastbound through Wyoming today, making a stop in the Black Hills region at Devils Tower, the first national monument in the United States. Learn how this soaring rock was formed over millions of years and became a significant cultural site for many Native American tribes. Afterwards, we travel into South Dakota and enjoy two nights in Rapid City, known as the Gateway to the Black Hills.

  • Day 11: Custer State Park & Memorials
    This morning, we continue exploring the Black Hills on a 4x4 Jeep adventure through Custer State Park, South Dakota’s first and largest state park. Our expert driver-guides get us close to wildlife, such as bison, elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep, and many other species that live here. Next, we visit Crazy Horse Memorial and admire the iconic mountain carving during our lunch at the on-site restaurant. Our day concludes with a drive to nearby Mount Rushmore National Memorial, one of America’s most famous carvings.

  • Day 12: The Badlands
    Today, we explore the rugged beauty of Badlands National Park, one of the most dramatic displays of geological wonders in the world. We finish our loop of the park with a visit to the famous Wall Drug Store, where you have free time to shop and grab a bite to eat. Later, we celebrate our adventures with a Farewell Dinner in Mitchell, South Dakota. Our overnight accommodations are in Sioux Falls.

  • Day 13: Falls Park
    Our last day in South Dakota starts with a visit to beautiful Falls Park. Enjoy the scenery of Sioux Falls’ namesake park and see some of the first buildings developed in the city, such as the remains of an old mill. Afterwards, we drive back to Minneapolis.
